The Government of Serbia adopted the Proposal for the Law on the Management of Companies Owned by the Republic of Serbia, together with the amendments proposed by the Corporate Compliance Association !

This practically means that, after the adoption of the law by the Assembly of the Republic of Serbia, companies in the public sector will have the obligation to form a Compliance function, which the Association insisted on:

“The capital company is obliged to establish the function of control of business compliance and regularly control the business compliance with the law, other regulations and internal acts of the capital company.”

Although not all the proposals for changes proposed by the Association were included in the adopted Bill, we consider this a significant step in the right direction for the development of Compliance in Serbia and the opening of new jobs for Compliance professionals.

We haven’t reached the goal yet, but we’re on the right track.
